Do you know anything about Concurrent Enrollment at UMD? The website says HS seniors can take 2 courses per semester at UMD. It may be a way to get access to advanced courses not available in MC Dual Enrollment, for students who logistics ally can't attend a magnet HS. But it's in person, so may be impractically to commute to during school year. https://admissions.umd.edu/persona/prospective-students https://sofia.umd.edu/sofia/concurrent
What advanced classes are you talking about. It isn’t like you can take a 300 level biology class right away. Montgomery college has most of the prerequisites for the advanced classes. It would not make sense to turn down a free program just to take basically the same class at UMD.
Math and Computer Science, mainly. SMACS magnet has more advanced courses that aren't available at other schools. MC doesn't have these courses; they have an offering of more applied/career-oriented courses.
