Advanced Math seems to be based on Iready scores, past performance in math, and some form of test given at the begining of the year to see where kids are that is not the iReady. Once they are taking the SOL, SOL scores are included in the formula.

They are not going to tell people what they are looking for because they know telling people that will lead to gaming the system. The schools want to evaluate kids and place them where they belong based on interest and ability and not promote acceleration for accelerations sake. And yes, there are plenty of parents who are trying to game the system. Kids in AAP or Advanced Math should not need tutors to stay on pace with the class and yet we know that there are kids who need tutors to keep up with AAP or Advanced Math. [/quote]
