You don't have to pay for Privia in that practice, it's optional. Of course, there may be levels of service, etc. involved, but it's not like other practices that have gone all mandatory concierge ...
In any case, my mother's had a concierge practice for the past 2+ yrs. and it's worked out great for her, IMO the more you may need to use it, the better deal a concierge setup is ... so that's a minor issue for me in this particular situation. I do not want to pay for concierge medicine either but it's a fact, it's here, so you either adapt to it/reconcile yourself to it, or not. Fortunately the cost is not an issue for me even though I'm not keen on it philosophically.
