I don't really get the point if this post, OP, and I'm a liberal Democrat. And you do sound a little smug. Which worries me, because this usnt over til the votes are counted. However, in the name of empathy I can imagine there are many Republicans who feel about Romney as the many Democrats did about John Kerry in 2004.. A super-rich guy who couldn't relate to the masses, and who flip flopped on the issues, selling his soul just to get elected. But we voted for him anyway because we hated the alternative and hoped he'd stay relatively true to liberal values if elected.
i was going to say the same thing about kerry. romney is the 2012 john kerry in that the party isnt more excited about getting the sitting president (in this case obama as it was bush in 04) than they are excited about the candidate. as a democrat, i knew that simply hating bush wasnt enough for kerry to win so i wasnt as shocked as others when bush won re-election. the same goes for obama. you republicans can spew all the birther stuff, unearth obama's college transcripts, and yap all day abot whatever other crap ive read on here (he smells, socialist, etc) but that is not going to be the end all for victory. its interesting that the economy just sucks ass right now. i dont care what my side says to try to sugar coat it, but any credible republican worth their salt should be ahead of obama right now. there is still time i guess but at this rate, the constant changing of "messages" by romney is not a good sign. plus where is paul ryan? i thought he was a solid pick but it seems like you guys dropped the ball and not taking advantage of anything he brings to the ticket right now.
