When we got flagged in Amsterdam we were early to the gate and a family of 4. It was almost like they singled us out in advance to gate check because the flight was full. Only about 30% of the passengers were there when they came up to us. We felt kind of profiled. My husband asked them to select other people and they refused. No idea why us. We were all compliant. The reason to have a backpack on is ot makes you look like you are traveling lighter. It also does help for navigating aisles quickly. [/quote]
