Do you mean Medicare? For Medicaid, the person receiving care needs to demonstrate they have no financial resources. Who is paying for assisted living?
No, I do not mean Medicare. Well versed in Medicaid LTC. Family is paying for assisted living along with aunt but tapped out. NY Medicaid has an "Assisted Living Program" and While the majority of program participants are Medicaid eligible, this program is also open to persons who are not eligible for Medicaid. I'm interested if anyone has had experience with this offering.
Call the program and ask. MD has a program that claimed to pay for in home care givers if you removed your loved one from a nursing home but it turned out to be a few hours a week and they couldn't guarantee hours due to limited staff. It really varies by state and program. Medicaid is block granted to the state and how the states use the money is up to them. You may want to apply for nursing home medicaid instead.
