There are definitely people who would object to voting for a Catholic candidate because Catholicism seems crazy. As I said, it's the widespread absolute devotion to the LDS church that makes me uncomfortable. Joseph Smith, the golden plates with the mysterious language, everyone following Brigham Young to the West, God talking to everyone personally, the super ernest missionaries in matching clothes-it all freaks me out.
