What happens when you signed up to go to a center school in your current neighborhood but then move to a completely different pyramid in FCPS. Do you continue with your first center school or do you get to transfer to your new neighborhood center school? First timer here. Thank you!
Do you want to go to your new school center, or stay in your old? Officially, you're required to go where you currently live. You ALWAYS have an option to go to the local school, or center for which you live, regardless of the time of year or capacity/enrollment. Unofficially, if you want to stay (and provide Transportation) to your existing school for the remainder of the year, most schools/principals will work to accommodate you, depending on the over-enrollment capacity. Even more unofficially, I've seen parents just neglect to inform the school of a move, but that gets dicey if the administration cares to start looking into things after your child changes their dismissal method and talks about how they moved in class... Benefit-wise, you're in the AAP program regardless of where you live in FFX county, so you can game the system, buying a house in a lesser neighborhood that's districted to the center you want, independent of the base schools. This can be a huge cost savings in some areas.
