It took seven hours for the excavation of the site lines to the house and replacement lines install. They dug up a ton of the yard and three weeks later a five day restoration promise of the yard has yet to be complete.
That must have been a gas line replacement. We had that happen after a random neighbor smelled gas from our sidewalk and then WGL confirmed an underground leak using a hand held device. Grateful to whoever called it in to WGL as that is a basic safety issue. The meter replacement was separate and took roughly 1 hour. They came in the basement briefly at the end - only to check that the gas furnace was operating safely (e.g., no need to relight a pilot light).
