The nickname for Chaturanga is often referred to as “shoulder shredder”. Is that part of your practice? I’d see a sports medicine doctor. You could try a physical therapist first, but I’ve always had better luck w/doctor first and then PT vs straight to PT. I had the start of a rotator cuff tear after many years of daily yoga and regular rock climbing. Shoulders are very tricky and IME very hard to heal and restrengthen. Not all PTs are good with shoulders, which is why I’d start with a specialist for proper diagnosis.
yes a lot of these. urgh i live at the dr.
Stop doing the chaturanga while in full plank position. It's too much pressure on your shoulders. Switch to your knees. tilt forward a bit. And keep elbows near ribs as you scoop down and then up to up dog. Or, really, give your shoulders a rest for two weeks first. Then go back and do the chaturanga with knees on the floor. Put your ego aside.
