Depends on what part of DC we are comparing to what part of Arlington or Alexandria. So for example say Georgetown, Dupont, Friendship Heights, per square foot, is more expensive than say South Arlington or most of Alexandria. But if say Brookland vs those then I think it's around the same. Anyway for $1m you will have to settle for a TH in the DMV area (or immediate proximity to it like close by in N Arlington or nice parts of Alexandria, ie old Town). Try North Arlington (the areas around and to the north of Rosslyn through Ballston). Georgetown you may get something for 1m if lucky bit will be older. There is also Brookland and Petworth in DC but I would steer clear of those areas if low crime is what you are looking for. [/quote]
