I’m hosting about 20 people for a dinner and want to serve sushi. For both cost and convenience, I don’t want to order rolls from somewhere like I do for my family for dinner. I once ordered catering sushi from Wegmans and didn’t like it at all, so I’m wondering if anyone has done catering for sushi that was great (baldiccis? Whole Foods? A restaurant?) I’m in Chevy chase but happy to drive a bit.
If you live in Chevy Chase you can afford real sushi for guests. Grocery store sushi is flavorless at best and gross at worst. If I were going to a dinner party and the hosts served grocery store sushi I’d think they are cheap. Either don’t do it at all or do it decently. There’s other high quality food for less than sushi if budget is a concern.
