As for benefits, federal employees seem to have more options, but the minimum family health plan (with huge maximum caps) is $331 a month, and the platinum family plan is $1667 a month. Retirement contribution is 4.4% Another comparison for thought is Fairfax County is hiring a Child Protective Services specialist II with a preferred MSW. That position is an S23 on the Fairfax County pay scale with a minimum hourly rate of $30.26 and a maximum $50.43.
