In my real life, I like to avoid drama and flaming and don't like to hurt feelings, so I'll avoid answering questions such as "do I look fat?" or "is my child a brat?" when I really really want to say, "YES you could stand to lose some lbs" and "YES your little boy is a monster". (I exaggerate) Anyway, I find I get the most honest answers on DCUM and I believe it's because of the anonymity.[/quote] I think you are right about this on many topics such as the examples you cited. Other topics, such as 'what do you think about private school x" gives useless advice, because there is no way of knowing the motivation of the poster or their actual knowledge of the school.[/quote]
