Lol, you missed the point pp. People on here get mean with no accountability. It sucks that none of the people on here would dare speak to anyone in real life this way. People admit this is why they do it on here because they can.

You're probably right, but on the other side, anonymity allows for honest opinion. (I exaggerate)

Anyway, I find I get the most honest answers on DCUM and I believe it's because of the anonymity.

I think you are right about this on many topics such as the examples you cited. Other topics, such as 'what do you think about private school x" gives useless advice, because there is no way of knowing the motivation of the poster or their actual knowledge of the school.

A dear friend who is normally very intelligent recently posted a quote "Listen earnestly to anything your children want to tell you, no matter what. If you don't listen eagerly to the little stuff when they are little, they won't tell you the big stuff when they are big, because to them all of it has always been big stuff."

So brainless. And I was SO tempted to comment "talk to me when you have a four year old, let me know if you still think this is good parenting advice." But I scrolled on.

How many friends does she have, though? If she has 700 friends and only 11 likes, it means that a lot of her friends are probably thinking "moron."

i have a friend who posts a lot of inflammatory stuff on FB and i have to constantly hold my tongue because it would just start a flame war. She doesn't seem to get that she is a 1%er who never had to support herself (trust fund, then rich husband) and doesn't get the irony of a person with a trust fund/rich husband/no job complaining about people who don't work and want things handed to them. almost nobody ever "likes" her posts so i suspect a lot of folks are also holding back.
