I hated our Dyson. Love our Shark pet. Couldn’t spend the $$$$ on a vacuum cleaner my kids bang up and down the steps. I’m thinking about getting a second one and maybe a third to have one on each floor!
10/10 recommend a vacuum on each floor! I keep a central vac tool kit on my main and upper floors and then an older Miele in my basement. It's so nice to not drag hoses/machines up and down the stairs.
OP here. I hate dragging my vacuum up from the basement, especially up to the second floor. In fact dread of doing so means I don't vacuum as often as I should. But I don't have room to store a vacuum on every floor.
PP here with the central vac. My MIL gifted me a cordless Dyson for Christmas that I keep in my mudroom. It mounts on the wall and takes up very little room. I'd consider that if you have mainly hard floors and low pile rugs. I'd still want my heavy duty plug-in vacuum for carpeted areas every once in awhile but for the most part, I could probably get by with just this new cordless vac.
