The exam only three credits will transfer to high school transcript as pass/fail and with no GPA impact. No impact to TJ application.
Thanks for confirming
Technically the three credits pass/fail meet the FCPS or TJ minimum graduation requirement. But then top segment of TJ students complete four years of world language for letter grade, as well as associated AP exam, which also makes their college application competitive.
So as I understand this, if a student wants to have a "competitive" college application, then the world language exam credits do not help at all since the student needs to take another world language anyway and the AP exam in high school?
The world language 3 credits do help - it gives you 3 years of language (1,2,3) that appear in HS transcript. If your child is able to take a language AP in TJ, it completes 4 years of language at HS level. Mine did just that and college outcomes did not seem impacted. Check with your TJ counselor just in case hopefully when your child gets in.
What language was the AP course/exam in? and at what high school?
