When US Soccer pulled the plug on both boys and girls DA, during Covid no less, everyone was left in a lurch. ECNL had already accepted some clubs back and in light of the extenuating circumstances they let a couple more former DA clubs back into ECNL.

But that still left 1000's of players with a very uncertain future as they were just realizing their dreams of playing and being recruited for college. In short order, club directors got to work and in warp speed created a league and a showcasing environment to keep those kids dreams on track. Now, of course there was money to be made but that didn't matter to the kids.

So, while GA may certainly be slipping in status, it served an important purpose to a great number of kids who have GA and their club leaders to thank for making sure they had a competitive environment to continue their pursuit.

While I believe GA is going to fall off lets thank GA for being there when kids needed it the most. [/quote]
