I did DE successfully but bc I wanted a known donor who I could meet and talk to and be able to get in-depth health info, it took some time to find and set up.  I did my last several rounds in parallel with the DE process.  I was older than you when I started, and by the time I switched to DE, age was an issue for egg quality and I also wanted to be a reasonable age by the time I gave birth.  I think looking at the DE process in detail while doing my own rounds also took some pressure/stress off since I started to feel like I had another path forward.  It also made the change over to DE easier, since I was able to take a lot of time to learn and plan without putting so much pressure on myself.
