PPs are correct that if you plan to continue with IVF you should see a specialist like Davis. They're definitely better, but I felt like it was still a lot of art and luck, as opposed to that those docs had perfected IVF for DOR/age. I went to DE after many rounds, including ones with specialists. For me it was a balance of time/stress vs the complexities of DE. If you are considering DE, I'd recommend planning for that in parallel with rounds of your own, if you can.

I did DE successfully but bc I wanted a known donor who I could meet and talk to and be able to get in-depth health info, it took some time to find and set up. I did my last several rounds in parallel with the DE process. I was older than you when I started, and by the time I switched to DE, age was an issue for egg quality and I also wanted to be a reasonable age by the time I gave birth. I think looking at the DE process in detail while doing my own rounds also took some pressure/stress off since I started to feel like I had another path forward. It also made the change over to DE easier, since I was able to take a lot of time to learn and plan without putting so much pressure on myself.

your AMH is low but your AFC and FSH are good, and you also still have age on your side re: egg quality - you just might not have as many eggs left as others your age.

That said, def go with clinics who specialize in DOR. Shady Grove is not one of them. Dominion is not one of them. You will hear Dr Davis at Cornell in NY mentioned a lot, as well as CCRM (schoolcraft and surrey), or CNY and doing multiple "cheap" rounds of iVF since DOR usually means more than 1 retrieval to be successful.

If you haven't done IVF yet, your response to the first cycle will usually inform the second cycle if needed. Save yourself the consultation $$, I consulted (and was treated by) both Dr Davis at Cornell, and Dr Surrey at CCRM. Dr Davis is going to recommend the lower dose protocol; Surrey does the opposite. There's arguments to both sides, you just won't know which works until you try. For me, Dr Davis's protocol crashed and burned for me; I wish I had gone straight to CCRM (in Lone Tree) since they're the mothership and they have more advanced protocols and innovative treatments than other clinics, that I felt like we would be doing everything we possibly could with them. CCRM is the best, but they are also the most expensive. You could alwyas try them locally sicne #s are on your side for the most part; we went to Lone Tree since it was our last shot before giving up (after 5 IVF retrievals elsehwere, including Cornell). The only downside is, your AMH may not qualify for CCRM so better to get in wiht them now and test to see if they'll accept based on your other #s (FSH, AFC). Also, they use their own lab; my AMH at Shady Grove was .6 via Lapcorp, and I tested with CCRM a couple years using their own lab and it was .9. CCRM LT usually wants .4 or above.

You could expect about 5-10 eggs per egg retrieval, disagree with your RE

What have you done to address the endo and how many kids do you want? There is a chance if you get the laparoscopic excision of the endo you can conceive naturally

Dr Davis at Weill Cornell in NYC. You will find several other threads about him if you search.

NP but in an almost identical boat with OP except my numbers are slightly worse. What are the best DOR clinics. It seems like everyone is against shady grove for DOR but what about CCRM? Anywhere else? Any particular doctors that are good with DOR?

Should add that I'd been trying to get pregnant for over 2 years with the first pregnancy and only one MMC in that whole time.

Absolutely get a second opinion. AFC of 7 is decent, especially given your age, you just may need to do a couple of retrievals. Only potential issue could be if your endo makes it difficult to retrieve eggs or if it has lowered your egg quality.

Get a second opinion from a DOR specialist and do it quickly. I had success with 2nd doc at age 38 with 0.42 AMH and worse FSH and AFC than yours but had to go to NYC.

34, infertility due to endo & DOR, AMH 0.33/FSH 7/AFC 7, 1.5 years TTC. RE says not a candidate for IVF and to keep going with medicated cycles (on 3rd letrozole cycle) then shrugs. Find a second opinion, or go to DE?
