Both will lie.

"Looking for a spouse"  is usually not a great thing to put on a dating profile. You actually do need to communicate.

And no one knows anything on a first date and where it's going to go. Might lead to marriage and grandchildren. Might lead to nothing.

If you really don't want anything meaningful, just say "not interested in anything serious" or something similar.

A lot of people will check out, but you'll get the people that want to get laid right now. And you'll never hear from them again.

I’m guessing that a man wrote this.  If you are a woman who wants to get laid “right now,” and you have any chemistry at all, you will hear from him again.  A lot.

Yes!  I was on a site 15 or so years ago that was advertised as being exclusively for people looking for hookups.  Probably more people met and hooked up from that site than from eHarmony or whatever, but I didn’t actually hook up with every man that I met.  Some of them I wasn’t interested in after I met them, and it wasn’t a big deal.  One man I ended up dating seriously for a long time (or what’s a long time in your twenties anyway).

Whatever you say on your profile, you don’t know what you’re looking for until you meet the other person.
