It seems most psychological diagnoses are made by people's disgruntled partners or ex-partners. Everyone and their mom is narcissistic and gas lights etc etc. Is it possible that most humans are on narcissistic spectrum and actually only abnormal ones aren't?
No. People who have terrible behavior patterns stick out to others who are self aware and grounded. Those functional, healthy people may start to feel depressed or that something is wrong and talk to others or seek help. By doing that they discover and learn they may be a frog in a pot of boiling up water. They are being abused, there may be mental or personality disorders at play in their partner. They then seek professional help and further explain things and ask for coping help. There they may further narrow down a diagnosis for their partner or at least how to mitigate things or plan an exit. Do you really think an a-hole prick is going to do all that? To find out what is wrong or what is going on or how to fix their relationship? h no. But their partner may do that to find out wtf is going on in all that fog and games and emotional abuse.
