The key, OP, is to ignore the guilt trips you may get from other parents or teachers for the stuff you can't go to. That's what happened to me when I changed jobs and DH and I started more evenly splitting school stuff. You have to steel yourself against it. Their reasons for doing it have nothing to do with you.
