Thank you for the responses. I am reconsidering based on your comments. I’m specifically looking for coverage for hearing aids, dental, and vision. Am I wrong that standard Medicare and Tricare offer minimal benefits for these? I am also considering going through the VA for hearing. But I have heard it is a bureaucratic nightmare. TY again for replies!
Dental is not covered by Medicare or Tricare for Life, but retirees are eligible for certain governmental dental insurance programs. I am not familiar with them because I still have dental through my husband's insurance. Eyeglasses and ordinary exams for eyeglasses are not covered by either Medicare or Tricare for Life. Many hearing and vision services are covered, of course, but you just need to check or ask beforehand, or read the manual. Occasionally, Tricare for Life will cover, with a copay, a service Medicare does not cover.
