Not to be discouraging, but this is part of why I stopped cutting my hair shorter. It’s not frizziness but weird curl shape that I found most annoying; my hair is somewhere in the 2c/3a range, and I find that my curls get weirdly bent and look chaotic after sleeping on them when my hair is shorter. The only way to do it, in my experience, is wash in the morning, which I hate. I also like my hair long, so it’s not a huge sacrifice, but I have had some cute shorter haircuts! But between the weird bed head and needing to get haircuts more often for maintenance, they just aren’t worth it for me.
DP. I haven't had short hair since high school (it ranged from chin length to an inch above my shoulders) and I felt I had to wash it every morning and then let it air dry the first couple periods of the school day. With my hair an inch or two below my shoulders, it's easier not to wash in the morning.
