Perhaps the assessment grade is a combination of the student's part of the project and a written reflection after all presentations. If the student is absent part of the time or just didn't put in effort on their part, and they don't like their grade, no, they don't get to redo it.

Content knowledge checks in courses like math, science, language, social studies should have retakes. But a lot of instruction has shifted away from only using quizzes and exit tickets as formative grades. Instead, instruction build in more collaboration and opportunities for feedback along the way, so they are fewer "retakes" than there used to be 10 to 20 years ago.[/quote]
