Does your school allow kids to be Teacher Assistants? That's what mine paired with health and she enjoyed it - did errands for the teacher and helped kids in the class with problems (it was a math class). Lots of kids at our school do health in summer school.
The are called aides. High schools require that a student be a junior or senior. They do not get credit for it but they do get SSL hours. It has to be approved by the counselor and the kids assistant principal.
Okaaay. Mine did it as a sophomore and lots of sophomores at our school do it. No approvals required, other than the guidance counselor approving it as a schedule selection. She did need to talk directly to the teacher to get the "job" once she knew what period it was being assigned to. No SSL hours. You are correct that it's not a credit course although the teacher did mark attendance and gave an "effort" grade but I am not sure that shows up on the real transcript - will have to look.
