Based on expectations from MSDE, a student who arrives 90% late should be marked tardy. Only over 90% late is to be marked absent. Our teachers got this info earlier this week. OP - Follow up on these errors as some teachers do follow the county grading policy that allows for downgrading for unexcused absences. Errors will happen with 150+ students a day, with many arriving late or out all period at the health room, guidance counselor...Also, some parents may discover that the absence was correct and that their child was actually skipping. Great kids sometimes make the wrong choice. [/quote]
