15 days PTO earned throughout pay periods. Meaning, you do not start the year with 15 days. We ask for a month's notice for vacation days and that one five-day block line up with one of our five-day blocks of vacation. We ask for as much notice as possible for sick days (like dr appts) but understand that isn't always possible.
Do you have to take your vacation days lined up when your boss takes their vacation? Your nanny earns these days and should be able to take them when she chooses.
I work for an international corporation. The nanny works for one family. When my boss is on vacation I keep working. When I take my kids on vacation, unless we're paying the nanny to come with us, they are not working. Also, we just ask them to do this for one third of their vacation days, not all. They agreed to it. They could have negotiated.
