This is OP. I am confused since my fitness pal recommends 1300 cals per day, but high fat Keto foods take up a lot of those cals. For example, my breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs cooked in one tablespoon of butter with half an avocado and 2 cups of coffee with one tablespoon of heavy cream each is about half of my daily allowance. Then my lunch, chicken Caesar (no croutons - just lettuce, Parmesan, chicken and dressing) is nearly 500 cals. It basically leaves nothing for dinner and it’s not a huge volume of food.
Forget Calories.. They are meaningless. Here is how a Calorie is measured: An item is combusted in a chamber surrounded by water. A bomb calorimeter measures the increase in the temperature of the water as a result of the combustion. For every mL of water raised 1 degree Celsius, the colorimeter measures 1 Calorie. Does your body work that way? NO! A bomb calorimeter would measure tons of calories from combusting wood. Go eat that piece of wood and tell me how much energy it gives you. In addition, the amount of energy your body burns is partly dependent on how much energy you consume. If you consume very little energy, your body will reduce the amount of energy it uses for many functions. Also, the number of calories in food is allowed to be off by something like 20%. Finally, metabolizing protein uses a lot more energy and turns it into heat. So you can't get the same energy out of protein as you can out of fat or carbs. Stop thinking Calories.
