I agree with this. I had a boss whose wardrobe was mostly navy/grey/black but she occasionally wore an orange dress that looked fine on her -- not better or worse than anything else she wore. But it was really ORANGE. Different from her usual palette, and very bright. People always complimented her when she wore it, I think because the dress kind of screamed "look at ME!"

I remember noticing that she wore it on days when she had meetings with bigwigs or lunch out. She definitely felt it was her best look, when really it was just her most noticeable look.[/quote]
