I love Copenhagen and used to go a lot to see family. It’s an easy for trip abroad and a manageable, beautiful city. We are mixed Asian and white and we stood out; Copenhagen has way more immigrants than it used to but maybe someone else can speak better to the vibe you’ll encounter. A common day trip across the bridge is to Malmo, Sweden. People there have been more upfront about anti-immigrant beliefs and racism so do research if you add that on. Copenhagen for an entire week? Maybe if your kids are enthusiastic walkers, museum-goers, and restaurant goers it would be fun, especially if you’re willing to do some of those days as a local or take train trips. If they’re strong swimmers that would kill the afternoons if you go in summer. Add a day trip to Ilsignor castle and plan a day at Tivoli. You could walk all of the city center in the remaining 2 days and have time to spare, so you’ll want to plan other day trips or add on another city. I think that beaches around there and in northern Germany are really intriguing but I don’t know enough to suggest spots. Adding a few days of beach time to Copenhagen would be a good mix of city/Northern Europe/Scandinavia experience.
