I’m 5 feet tall and 115 and maintain that on 1200 calories a day, assuming at least 5000 steps a day, usually more. However I do exercise almost everyday so I usually eat more than that - 1500 to 2000 depending on what my workout is that day.
(Not OP). Oh my god this is what I need to do (to lose 5 lbs from my current 118 lb, 5 ft frame) and I think it is insane! I am giving myself 2 months but I don’t know how to do it! Unfortunately I can only fit in semi-regular not-super-intense workouts, but the thought of only 1200 calories a day makes me want to bury my head in sand. Preferably ice cream sand.
It helped when I realized that the portions I’ve received since birth aren’t meant for me. I’m not average height and don’t need the same amount of food as someone who is. Trying to reframe that has been helpful when dishing up food at home and when I eat at a restaurant. It doesn’t take super long for your body to adjust. What is a challenge is to go below that, into a deficit, in order to lose weight. So, just know that once you do get past these couple months, if you generally can reframe and eat what your body needs, you’ll be able to maintain.
