Who knows? You would need to mention the specific school. You can also look up how many transfer students the school accepts as some very selective schools do not take a lot. If your dd is already thinking about transferring before she starts freshman year, perhaps she should take a gap year? I do have a kid who transferred but wasn’t even thinking about it until sophomore year. She went into freshman year thrilled about her choice.
The school is High Point. She loved it on her campus tour and was really torn between HPU and JMU which she ended up accepting. She just chose her dorm on Friday and is really excited about JMU but is wondering "what if". I told her she can always reevaluate in the spring but I'm just wondering if schools hold it against you if you did not originally accept their offer. Who really knows, right?
NP. I'm going to say that, unless she makes a mess of her first year somewhere else, she will be able to transfer to High Point. They have a high acceptance rate for undergrads, they were interested in her before, and they accept transfers on a rolling basis.
Me again. Just google transfers and HIgh Point. The stats look very favorable to acceptance: https://www.collegetransfer.net/HighPointUniversity/TransferProfile/tabid/145/Default.aspx
