No you cannot.  We have a house that is about that size and paid 8k last fall to replace our roof.  We had multiple quotes and others were thousands more.  That was without any slates or anything complicated.  Many of our neighbors have paid a lot more.  I don't know if the repair price is high or not. It doesn't sound unreasonable to me.  I'd suggest getting some more quotes.[/quote]

No, I did not.  You don't know what you're talking about.  I actually got a good deal.  Most companies charge closer to $15k which I think is ridiculous but many people pay it.  Please tell me what roofers will charge 2k for demo and removal of existing roof (including removal of several layers of old roof), replace all rotten boards, guttering, flashing and roof membranes, plus a 20 year warranty.  Oh also we had several solar tubes installed.[/quote]
