Groups of toddlers never stand around in my experience; if you don’t give them toys, they decide random stuff is toys (and usually break it). OP, to answer your actual question: my daycare has limited organized activities for the under 2s (usually like one thing a day) but lots of unstructured playground time and toys available everywhere and staff reading to them/playing with them. 2 and up they have a more structured day with more set activities, although pick up and drop off are still free play times. Snacks/meals are always at consistent times. Have you talked to your daycare about what the daily schedule is? But if you can find one it really sounds like a new daycare might be best.[/quote]
