— some of the disney dining experience are kind of irritating— the new marvel dining room has lousy food and you are forced to watch a pretty dumb movie at top volume on massive screens.  Disney tries to make every dinner an experience/theme and sometimes it is just not an added benefit.  
— disney doesn’t have many ships so has really limited itineraries.  So if you have a specific week, location and length of cruise in mind, dcl might not work for you.

All cruise lines have certain common flaws.  A lot of the food sucks, but the other side is that there is a lot of it so you can usually find good stuff  f you try.  All ships are crowded at least in some areas.  All rooms are small compared to resort rooms.  Most ships don’t have great gyms and I don’t think the DCL ships have jogging tracks.  All cruise ship pools stink.

We’ve been on about 5 cruises including 2 with disney.  We are doing Norwegian for our next cruise mainly so we can get the higher adventure activities.  You may also want to price out the club level for NCL or RCI compared to a regular disney room—club level comes with lots of benefits.  Of course, if what your kids really want is to cruise with Mickey or Tiana, then that’s going to make your decision.
