I'm so sorry, OP. We put my 17 year old dog down on Tuesday and it was the hardest thing I've had to do in my adult life. It sucks. Like you, she was spry until she suddenly wasn't. Wishing you peace and love. It is the hardest, kindest thing we can do for our pets.
Ugh. Same here, except my girl was 15 and a half. Went through two rounds of chemo (diagnosed last summer) and was doing great but things spiraled downhill last week with a noticeable decline the last two days - couldn’t walk, vocalizing, stopped eating. We had a vet come out to the house this morning and we held her during the process. I am in physical pain and unable to stop ruminating thoughts about her being gone. I can’t believe I won’t physically see her again. No advice but wanted to chime in that I get it - hardest thing I’ve gone through. She was with me through my divorce and every major milestone. I have truly lost my best friend.
OP here. I’m so sorry about your girl. I too keep thinking about my kitty’s physical presence—her meows, her purring, her head bumps. I hope you are doing ok.
