[/quote] The problem isn't always proximity - it is also safe routes to school. Yes, if we were willing to overhaul our car-centric culture and create dedicated walking paths for every neighborhood, that would be ideal. But residents often oppose sidewalks, and we have oriented our urban design around cars rather than pedestrians. Fix that, and in 10 years we can maybe revisit the question of start times. [/quote]
