The parents may not be aware of what their kids are involved in at school. If schools disciplined and alerted parents to this behavior, then they would know. Not saying that is or isn't the case here, just saying, kids do a lot of things outside of the watchful eye of their parents, and we as parents rely on schools to alert us to what goes on when they're under their care and not ours. Hence, why schools have in loco parentis status.[/quote]
