Yikes. That suggests weak admin. How are they?
Are you kidding? Weed is a problem at EVERY MCPS high school. My kids attend another high school and the bathrooms constantly smell like weed and my kid has commented that there are always kids smoking in there.
And vaping, which is an issue at middle schools and high schools.
Our high school is piloting a program where they will install vape detectors in the bathrooms. But admin has not said what happens when a kid is actually caught vaping!
I don’t really blame admin because there is not really support for punishing kids who smoke weed or vape IN schools. MCPS has a major issue with allowing drugs in our middle and high schools. It’s ubiquitous though, and not unique to Sherwood.

OP, have you tried a COSA for Blake? I would try that before paying for private. Same problems in private school just on a different scale.
Blake has more violent incidents than Sherwood. Everyone raves about Blake compared to PB and Springbrook but it’s not a better school it’s just more white than the other 2. Lots of fights this year.

Or lax and uninvolved parenting
