My kid wants to stay at BASIS, over Walls. But my kid does not seek out change. I want an informed decision. In other threads posters have asserted that Walls is going downhill. I’m well-aware of the changed admissions standards but would welcome input on other ways it’s reportedly declining.
Ask yourself, "How does anyone that doesn't have a kid at a school know anything about it?" I guess the 1900+ applicants this year don't think it's trash. I have a 9th grader there, you know the non-test in crew that's supposedly not smart :-) We came from a private K-8 and the big shock is the amount of responsibility placed on the students. It's definitely more collegiate vs nurturing. So far the school has been challenging and engaging with no behavioral issues. My kid does an outside extracurricular six days a week so it's been the appropriate balance. You're the only one that knows what's best for your kid. So proceed accordingly.
