We are in same situation, DC wants to take the course and can manage however I can't figure out what is the advantage in doing so? 1. Does it help TJ admission? Will it increase GPA? TJ admission policy states 7th and 8th grade(1st semester) grades to caculate GPA 2. Does it help boost GPA in college? Thanks!
No, it does nothing for getting into TJ. GPA wise, the number of 4.0’s or 4.5’s you get doesn’t increase the average GPA, it’s not like you get a bump for taking 6 or 7 years of math. You could be making things harder by adding additional math classes that are harder once kids get past Calculus. You could be breezing through Geometry and end up not really understanding the foundations of Geometry and that could cause issues in later classes.
