In July a few years ago, DH and I went to Snowshoe mountain with our bikes (you can also rent them). There were a tons of trails for every level of skill/adventure. One of the great things was being able to put our bikes on the ski lifts/shuttles to get to trails and up/down the mountain. We had a blast! https://www.snowshoemtn.com/plan-your-trip/rentals/summer-rental#filters=filter1:Kid
^^PP here. When we were in Acadia National Park last year, there were several places that rented bikes, including electric bikes that were allowed in the park! I would TOTALLY take my new-rider there. Acadia has 45 miles of roads that are fabulous. We took our own bikes, again, and while there were some hills, none were all that hard to bike up (although I did huff/puff). If you have an electric bike, it's super easy. http://barharborbike.com/booknow/ https://www.nps.gov/acad/learn/historyculture/historiccarriageroads.htm
