OP here: great question. Yes, we would based on the DCI feed and proximity to our house. Commute isn't too big of a concern which is why we have three WOTP schools on the list. But fully aware there is basically 0% chance to get in.

To other question above about priority: feeder, DCPS over a charter (if we don't get one of the top 3). The idea of the "neighborhood school" playground, kids who live close by, etc. Shepherd, Takoma, Whittier, and Lewis are all quite close to us in Brightwood.  The WOTP schools are a pipe dream.

As someone in your neighborhood living the pipe dream, think hard about your relative preferences for Whittier/Takoma/Lewis vs the WOTP schools and make sure they are ranked in the true order of schools you'd want to enroll in so you don't get dropped from waitlists if you match somewhere.[/quote]

Yea I’m confused about order of the DCPS schools if you are worried about MS/HS feed. [/quote]
