It's challenging, but your DC will learn a lot more geometry the correct way if they are motivated as you mentioned. In fact, spending time now working at their own pace through AoPS before the end of the school year would likely make summer geometry a breeze by comparison and hopefully lighten the time spent during the summer. Then both goals would be met (testing out, plus actually learning geometry well). Since you mentioned they finished Khan geometry, they should specifically work on the problem solving and proof aspects from the AoPS book, as Khan likely doesn't dive too deep into more challenging problems.[/quote]
