In that case, I would also strongly recommend the AoPS book as the other poster suggested. It's challenging, but your DC will learn a lot more geometry the correct way if they are motivated as you mentioned. In fact, spending time now working at their own pace through AoPS before the end of the school year would likely make summer geometry a breeze by comparison and hopefully lighten the time spent during the summer. Then both goals would be met (testing out, plus actually learning geometry well). Since you mentioned they finished Khan geometry, they should specifically work on the problem solving and proof aspects from the AoPS book, as Khan likely doesn't dive too deep into more challenging problems.

The Key to Geometry series is a pretty good lightweight intro to the material.

But geometry over the summer is *so* compressed that I would recommend starting an actual, full geometry course, like, right now. AoPS?

This is a desperate attempt to learn geometry, and as such, it is a terrible idea. Don't do it.

We are looking at RSM’s Geometry track. It is a 3 year program in order to make sure that kids get a really solid exposure and understanding of geometry. It starts in 6th grade. I can’t imagine doing Geometry in a summer. They have a similar program for Algebra that starts in 6th but that feels more like Pre Algebra, Algebra, and Algebra II that is typical in US schools.

Yes true. I am looking for Geometry classes and also looking for other Geometry resource which is in sync with FCPS syllabus.

Summer school is approximately four weeks, which means one quarter of geometry content and work is packed into each week. I recommend using an online platform to pretty much take the whole class unofficially before starting the FCPS summer class. It is very common for students to fail out of summer geometry because they cannot handle the fast pace.

I don’t understand why anyone would do that.
My 8th gr is in geometry. The only way I would have him do it in summer is if he needed no study tools and basically knew it already.
