My 3 year old is picky eater except when her food is covered with gravy or ketchup. I've been mixing ketchup and mayo and dabbing it inside any sandwich and she'd finish them. What are your recipe for sauce/dressing that helps food to go down? Sometimes certain dressing packet from salad catch her fancy and she'd eat the salad. My guess is that they are mostly sweet and creamy. Just want to see what you have for more healthy options.
I also use the dip method to get my super picky eater to eat finger foods. I've tried bbq sauce, seafood dipping sauce, soy sauce, tartar sauce, marinara, melted cheese. bbq and seafood sauces are the faves. You could get creative and try offering chocolate sauce for fries or plain noodles. You could try adding a little bit of cayenne pepper or lemon juice to make them interesting. Never know what will click with the picky eaters. I had one kid that wouldn't eat baby food unless cayenne pepper was stirred in. Mine have been to various specialists for all their eating problems and I've been told to ease up on the 'healthy' goal and just focus on getting them used to new things and variety and change. Healthy will come later. Creativity and thinking outside the box are key. Good luck.
