Ask to be tested for it specifically. This mutation is fairly common and makes it so body cannot break down folic acid. You can only absorb it as folate or methylfolate. There are various degrees of this mutation. It would absolutely impact you the most the first trimester. I went through 3 years of fertility treatments with no success and no RE of OB bringing it up. In year 4 I saw a functional medicine doctor and she tested for it immediately. I believe this is the same issue the other poster who can’t remember from 20 years ago posted about.[/quote]
