We do live in a capitalist society and people are Bombarded with ads promising this and that elusive form of happiness/ status/ allure if you buy whatever.

It is up to parents - moms and dads - to un-brainwash our children regarding materialistic life values. [/quote]

Many men continually want the newest tech gear, home technology, new cars, watches, shoes/sneakers, etc.

There are materialistic people of both sexes.
